The ESP pulls a 3 (or 4) foot long by 0.8 inch diameter sample in one plunge. It captures every sample in a plastic (or stainless steel) liner and can sample to 3 (or 4) feet (30 feet with extensions). Sampling tube is driven by a 12.5 pound drop-hammer (or electric hammer) and retrieved with a foot-operated jack.

Developed for soil dissipation studies, but can be used like any of our sampling tubes. Sampling tube fills a plastic liner 2 inches in diameter by 6 inches long. Best for shallow sampling applications, this tube fits most of our JMC sampling devices, but may require an adapter.
Assembly fits manual sliding hammer for the JMC Environmentalist's Sub-Soil Probe PLUS (1.2 inch diameter sampler). This is the part that rests on the top of the sampling tube that fits up inside the heavy sleeve of the hammer.
The heavy (12 pounds) metal sleeve that moves up and down while pounding the sampling tube into the ground. Fits both the JMC Environmentalist's Sub-Soil Probe and the JMC Environmentalist's Sub-Soil Probe PLUS.
