To sample below the length of your sampling tube, add extensions between the sampling tube and slide hammer of the JMC Environmentalist's Sub-Soil Probe Plus.
Please Note: The JMC ESP Plus Master Extension splits into two pieces when adding a Regular Extension. (See diagram at right).
Reliable hole and cross pin connections.
First extension must be a JMC Master Extension.
Additional extensions must be JMC Regular Extensions.
Each extension adds 3 feet of sampling depth.
Number of extensions limited only by soil conditions - usually 15 to 21 feet.
The ESP PLUS pulls a 3 (or 4) foot long by 1.2 inch diameter sample in one plunge. It captures every sample in a plastic liner and can sample to 3 (or 4) feet. Sampling tube is driven by a 12.5 pound drop-hammer (or electric hammer) and retrieved with a foot-operated jack.
This extension lets you sample 3 feet deeper than the length of your sampling tube. (6 feet with a 3 foot tube) If you want to sample deeper than that you will need to purchase one or more JMC ESP Plus Regular Extensions in addition to this extension.
This extension lets you sample three feet deeper provided you have a ESP Sampling Tube and a JMC ESP Master Extension. Regular extensions connect to each other for additional sampling depth capability.
Remove cutting tips easily from JMC Environmentalist's Sub-Soil Probe (and Sub-Soil Probe Plus) Sampling tubes! Use one wrench to lock tightly around your sampling tube and another to clamp onto your cutting tip. With two comfortable handgrips, you can unscrew even the most stubborn connection.
